Boundary Balance: the honest yes and the automatic one
August 5 - Sep 9, 2026 (No Session Labor Day Weekend)Six Wednesdays | 5:30-8:00pm | Live on Zoom | $600 | Twelve SeatsWhat To Expect
There's a yes that comes from your whole self, and a yes that's just a reflex wearing your voice. This cohort is about telling them apart — and getting your no back. Together, over six weeks.
Find where your no lives in your body, and why it rarely reaches your mouth
Practice real refusals — small ones first, then the ones that matter
Learn to rest without earning it
Build a small, trusted circle learning the same honest yes
Where You Might Be Right Now
You're the dependable one. The one who figures it out, covers the gap, says "no problem" while your calendar quietly catches fire. On the outside it looks like generosity — and some of it is. But inside, there's a version of you that's tired in a way sleep doesn't fix, that feels the no rising in your body and swallows it anyway, that can't remember the last time you rested without earning it first.
You want to be someone whose yes means yes. Who can disappoint someone briefly and survive it. Who doesn't need to be exhausted to feel like enough.
Here's what's probably been keeping you from doing anything about it: saying no feels like becoming someone else — someone selfish, someone difficult, someone less loved. Somewhere along the way, "good person" got fused with "always available," and letting that go feels like losing part of who you are. So the boundary stays theoretical. You know about boundaries. Knowing was never the problem.
None of that is a character flaw. It's just what a yes-reflex does when it's trying to keep you safe and belonging.
The reflex shows up everywhere, often in the same day, in the same person:
Saying yes before the question is even finished → automatic, nobody home
Weighing it carefully, feeling the no — then saying yes anyway, just slower → deliberation as hiding
Apologizing in paragraphs for the smallest no → asking permission to have a limit
Over-explaining your reasons until you talk yourself out of them → your no on trial
Staying busy because stillness feels like guilt → rest that never comes
Resenting the people you never told the truth → protecting them from you, and losing you both
These behaviors are just the evidence of a reflex that's ready for retraining. That's what we're doing here. Together.

Why This Cohort Exists
Someone asked me for something recently and I said "sure." Which, from me, means I'm excited and fully devoted to what I just agreed to. Then I looked at my reply. No exclamation point. Not even a fake smiley — and those are free. That's when it hit me: the yes was automatic, but the me behind it had already left the building. And honestly? Even my contemplated yeses weren't much better. I'd pause, weigh it out, consult my calendar, feel the no rising in my body — and then say yes anyway, just slower. Deliberation isn't a boundary if the answer was never allowed to change. It may even be a place to hide from the call for real rest.
If your "sure" has been running on empty too — this room is for you.
IT WON'T STAY IN ONE ROOM
Here's something I didn't expect from my own work: I came to heal one thing, and the tools quietly followed me everywhere. The same practices that steadied my closest relationships changed how I answer hard emails, how I rest, how I sit with silence. That's the nature of body-level work — your nervous system doesn't keep separate files for love, work, and family. It's all one system. Tend it in one place, and the whole house feels it.
How It Works
-
Tell me what's calling you here, and how ready you are to do this work. This isn't a formality — I read every application myself.
-
I'm not looking for who applied first — I'm looking for readiness and genuine desire to do this work. Twelve seats go to the twelve people I believe are ready to show up fully.
-
If this room is yours, you'll hear from me personally. Payment confirms your seat (the Care Fund exists if money is the wall — just say so), and I'll send your welcome letter and the Zoom link.
-
Wenesdays, 5:30–8:00pm, live on Zoom. Same twelve people, same room, six sessions. Come as you are — the room does the rest.
-
A personal follow-up from me, and where to go next if you want to keep walking this — another round, one-on-one work, or simply what you built here, carried home.

THE SIX WEEKS
-
We find your version of the automatic yes — where it came from, who taught it, and what it's been protecting. You can't retrain what you haven't named.
-
Underneath every swallowed no is a belief: I'm loved for what I carry. We find yours and hold it up to the light.
-
The no is already in your body — you've felt it rise. This week we learn to find it, trust it, and let it finish its sentence.
-
The practice weeks begin. Real nos, practiced live, starting small — and learning that someone's brief disappointment is survivable.
-
The deeper skill under every boundary: letting yourself stop. Not as a reward. As a right.
-
What you're taking with you, what you're leaving behind, and how your honest yes keeps working after the room closes.
